Love it or hate the name, you can’t ignore the name ‘Samini or Batman Samini’ anytime you hear it.
How does Samini, one of the nominees of the 2007 MTV Europe Music Awards rate his chances at this year’s MTV Awards? “On the 1st November, am hoping to win. But for now am keeping my fingers crossed and hope my fans vote for me”, he said.
For now he is hoping his fans, media houses and his fellow artistes vote for him come Thursday November 1, 2007 at the OlympiaHalle Arena, Munich, Germany.
This year, there was a buzz of activity surrounding the release of the nomination list as our proud son, Samini is set to hoist high Ghana’s flag far away in Germany after losing out sadly at the just ended Channel O Spirit of Africa Music Awards.
Samini, expresses his surprise at losing out the Channel O Spirit of Africa Music Awards by saying, “You have to expect upsides and down in your life. Been a nominee, you are already a winner. Am putting that behind me and gearing up for the MTV awards. But my ultimate has always been the Grammy”.
Samini is up against D’Banj, Chameleone, King Jua Cali, Samini and HHP for the “Best African Act Award”.
