Osei
Believing in the future is a difficult thing especially when your present status is nothing good to write home about but for new gospel entrant Ernest Yaw Osei, a.k.a Rev. Possible, hardships are just a means to achieve the impossible and one evidence is the successful release of his maiden album, Nyame Ni Yen Woho Vol. 1.

The album contains about an hour-long medley of cool-tempo worship songs which are sure to get a listener into an inspirational mood.

Good songs on the album include Mi Nyame Ka Meho, Mi Wo kamafo, Oguan Hwefo, Obe Gyeme So among other soul-inspiring songs. A significant feature about the songs is the interception of motivational messages which liven up the spirit of a listener as he soaks in the album.

According to Rev. Possible, the songs on the album are not just to inspire listeners but also to serve as a testimony of God’s goodness towards him during his times of hardship and for the fact that He had sustained his faith from his difficult childhood days till today.

Ernest Osei acquired the name “Rev. Possible” from Koforidua Secondary Technical school where he had his secondary education. “I used to pray for people who had problems and assured them that nothing was impossible for God”  His determination to press on in life no matter the obstacles justified the name “Rev. Possible” .

Ernest recounts his Junior Secondary School days at Christ Preparatory School in Koforidua at the age of 13 when his father, Mr. Osei Kwadwo, faced a tragic accident and had to be inactive for years. “There was a fire outbreak caused by a neglected gas stove in our house one day and while my dad tried to put it off, he was accidentally caught in the fire and sustained severe injuries which rendered him bed-ridden for months” he said.

Whiles his father stayed in the hospital awaiting urgent surgery, Ernest, being the third of five children, had to support his mother, Madam Felicia Nketia to raise funds for the operation and cater for the needs of the family at the same time.

Ernest started washing cars at filling stations to make money to cater for his younger sibblings’ school fees, food and clothing whiles his elder siblings helped their mother on the side. “ I would come home from school, change and go for my job” He did this job till he completed Koforidua secondary Technical School where he pursued a Visual Arts course.

After his father was released from the hospital, Ernest expressed his desire to go to the Kumasi Polytechnic where he gained his support to study Textile Designing.

Ernest realised his singing talent during his days at the secondary school where he became born again, formed a group with some friends and started performing at various tertiary campuses.

Nyame Ni Yen Woho Vol. 1 is an album which has been on the heart of Ernest for a long time since he wants to use it to tell his life story to inspire children who may be going through what he had gone through.
