When the 32nd Sports Writers Association of Ghana Awards Night takes place tonight at the Banquet Hall in Accra, the classy Ramblers International Band are expected to show why they remain a crowd-puller.

The highlife maestros will surely put up a stiff competition to the “new music” stars billed to perform alongside them namely hip-life artistes, Ebo’o and OD4.

OD4, whose unique voice and raga style have made him one of the best hip-life artistes in the country, and Ebo’o whose single track “Once, Twice” made him popular in the music scene are expected to dish out some of their best songs.

The event seeks to award excellent sports personalities in the country. In all, a total of 27 sports personalities and organisations will mount the podium to receive awards for their excellent performance and contribution towards sports development.

President J.A Kufuor, who is the Guest of Honour, will receive a special award for his immense contribution towards the development of sports in the country, especially motivating the Black Stars to their great feat in the 2006 World Cup.

The special guest for the night is Frank Malony, a U.K international boxing promoter who has been promoting Ghanaian boxers on the international scene through the arrangements of fights for them.

The President of SWAG, Ackah Anthony told the Times that everything is set for tonight’s event which he said will be “fantastic”.
