Mrs. Mercy Twum-Ampofo a.k.a Ohemaa Mercy says some gospel artists are imposing themselves on people without knowing the rudiments of the music.
“There are some people who are spoiling the work, there are some people who are forcing themselves to be in the industry that God hasn’t prepared them for,” she said in answering a question on her views of the gospel music scene in Ghana.
Ohemaa Mercy sees gospel music as something that God is using in the end times to bring people to His kingdom and advised those who want to get into the gospel music industry to wait for God to prepare them before they come out with an album.
Ohenmaa Mercy has been into music for 16 years and was only able to release her first album (adamfo pa) two years ago.
She teaches at St. Peter’s Anglican School in Koforidua at present and, is combining music with teaching but says she will not leave her teaching profession now that she has become a big music artist in Ghana.
Ohemaa has two albums to her credit and both were produced under Big Ben Music Production.
The new album is already topping music charts and shaking up the entire gospel music scene in Ghana.
She’s not the type of artist who would like to mime to her songs and call it live performance. As someone who started with live band music from the church, Ohenmaa says she’s always comfortable with a live band when performing.

it pains me that she is married but she is one artiste that i love to play her songs without thinking of PAYOLa
Ohemaa Mercy has been my favirate musician since the day that I head it being played by the FM sations, the TV sations and till the time that I met her and the husband at aboundant grace academy I was part of the school band. I love her so,so much and is my wish that the almighty father(GOD) will contiune to use her and the husband to the whole nation Ghana. May the goog God bless her and her whole family of her’s.
I think Ohemaa has really spoken welland I will like to advice all gospel musicians to seek the voice of God and his approval before the bring out any albumbecause with that they will not even need as much advertisement as they think rather, the songs will sell them selves
