EricoLast week on the TV3 Mentor III reality show, Erico chose South Africa when he was given the option of travelling to any African country of his choice after winning the Tigo Express Yourself competition.

It came as no surprise to most Ghanaians since South Africa is regarded a good destination point for tourists in Africa. A week after, he dropped a bombshell when he admitted he had had a change of mind. Erico isn’t going to South Africa after all.

The master of ceremony, Anita Erskine asked him after his performance on stage why he changed his mind; “I learnt Tigo doesn’t have any establishment there, so I wanted to go somewhere as a way of showing my gratitude to them and to also be comfortable. If I go to South Africa now they’re not there and my security won’t be all that tight there,” says Erico. Tigo is a leading mobile telecommunications company in Ghana and the main sponsor of the popular Mentor III on TV3.

Erico is expected to leave Accra for Dare Salaam at 9am today. He is one of the final four contestants who will slug it out in the finals of Mentor III. Erico must have learnt from his mistakes after he was evicted and voted back into the Mentor house. He’s been criticized for being clumsy on stage but it appears the young chap is not giving up on going for the ultimate.
Lisa

Yesterday’s show was a lively one with all four finalists giving off their best. Lisa, the only female among them proved critics wrong and had favourable comments from the judges.

She was slammed on TV3’s Mentor Spotlight program last Friday for not being a good singer but some showbiz critics think she may be the first female to wear a Mentor crown.
