She’s been up for eviction thrice, suffered several negative comments from judges but like Harry Houdini, the legendary magician of the 19th century, it appears Clare has all the escaping powers of eviction on Stars of the Future.
For those who are yet to notice her in the competition, Clare is that sweet looking, ebony skinned competitor, whose appearance on stage; one can never miss. With an innocent smile and a voice as charming as hers, one would have thought that she would never be up for evictions, but she has!
Not once, not twice but three in a roll, yet in all instances, she swerves her eviction partners by meager points.
In a chit chat with her, last week Friday, exactly two days after her last nomination for eviction with Daniel, Clare admitted that yes, she’s been up for eviction thrice but never gets used to the idea of knowing she could go home.
“Each time Chris Attoh mentions my name for possible eviction, I get butterflies in my stomach, honestly, on the day Daniel was evicted, I thought I was the one going home because I wasn’t my best on the Ghanaian night, but like always, I swerved my way out” She says.
According to her, there have been times when she even felt like pulling out of the competition, but not anymore! Perhaps this was the reason she sang Whitney Houston’s On My Own, a song whose first line sings……I’m wiser now, I’m not the foolish girl you used to know..!
Clare is a social worker whose educational background can be traced from GIMPA, University of Ghana, Benkum Secondary School and University Primary and JSS. She is 24 and prides herself with winning the 2006 Valentine Idol award by Joy FM with her sleek voice.
Clare is still in the competition with Fredrica, Betty, Noble, Justice and Twum Barima. Tomorrow afternoon on GTV at 3:30pm the six finalists are expected to thrill fans to an amazing Ghanaian Gospel Night. A performance that will once again determine who leaves on Wednesday.
As the competition draws to a close, fans are advised to vote for their favorite contestants on Areeba short code 1342. The show airs on GTV at 3:30pm on Sundays, 9:30am on Tuesdays (repeat), Wednesdays - 8:30pm and Fridays, 8:30pm. Then again on Metro TV at 7pm on Saturdays and a repeat on Mondays at 9am.
