Kwaku GyasiKwaku Gyasi had a unique interview to take us through the making of one of the most enjoyed song / album – “Onyame Aseda” just after the ended Ghana Music Awards Festival 2007 (Golden Jubilee Edition).

‘It’s a song that talks about saying thank you to God almighty,” Kwaku Gyasi said.

After a whole month of work on the album, “Onyame Aseda”, Kwaku Gyasi had something burning inside him that the album would be an instant hit and pursued that quest.

“When you wake up in the morning, it’s always good to say thank you to God. God’s thanks has no limitation”.

“Who could help me with this song was another question I asked myself? Nana Boakye hasn’t been heard like the other engineers but I resorted to work with him even though had grown and could have worked with any big sound engineer.

“So I decided to give it a try with Nana Boakye, a man I felt was on his creative wavelength and our formation has been felt on the album”.

This creative strikeout was great. “It was a well thought of song and I wanted to make an impact”, he added.

Kwaku could not end the interview, without paying huge respect to John Mensah Sarpong, his producer and church pastor.

Kweku Gyasi had been thinking about what some of his no doubt fans might say about his effort on the fourth album. “I wanted my fans to listen to words of my songs and go along with me,” he said.

As Kweku Gyasi recalls, “after the song was done, I knew definitely it will be a hit”.

Kweku Gyasi has been heralded as one of the big winners of the 8th Ghana Music Awards Festival 2007 (Golden Jubilee Edition) and sailing through with 3 awards that nite.

“Onyame Aseda” is transcending musical boundaries, leaping across all radio stations and bursting musical charts.

Even more importantly, Kweku Gyasi felt that the song was a personal triumph, proving God has seen him through so many things and this is another way he could say a BIG THANK YOU to Him.

When the album was cooked, a tired but happy Kweku was ready to hit the Ghanaian music industry on JMS Productions
