Okyeame QuameI strongly hold to my view that Okyeame Kwame of Akyeame fame is the king of rap in this country by far. Just imagine how this talented artiste gathers information around the country and moulds these into wonderful lyrics.

The zeal with which Kwame also rhymes each of his lines can never be left out as this has been his hallmark since he started his career with Okyeame Quophi.

Just this year alone he has been featured by lots of other stars and this has helped to raise the level of their music. I think he can even be compared to the hip hop star, Akon since he has recently been featured by a large number of artistes.

He has collaborated with artistes like Daddy Lumba, Akatakyie, Frank Mensa Pozo and a whole lots of stars. His new album is almost out but a few of his tracks on this album are being played on air by certain radio stations here in Oseikrom.

You just wait till you listen to one of his tracks entiltled ‘Kwame Ghana’.This guy is really great.

I quite remember, during last year when a highly acclaimed presenter in Oseikrom, Kwame Adinkra said live on one of his morning shows that, he had made a survey on music with the general public and some presenters in the country.

The outcome of his survey, he described, was that Okyeame Kwame was the best rapper in Ghana. I strongly believed him and have absolutely no doubts about that research by Kwame Adinkra.

If any musician or artiste wants to try him then I hope TV stations or radio stations can choose to organise a competition to select Ghana’s best rapper and none of the artistes can come close to my man, Okyeame Kwame.

I also trust artistes like Obour, Samini, Obrafour and certain musicians from the Last 2 when it comes to modern rap.

All the same I would like to congratulate all musicians who had awards at the just-ended Ghana Music Awards. I say a very good work done but watch out Okyeame Kwame still reigns and will definitely win some awards next time.
