From back-up vocalist to her own star – Miva Rocxy

A good backing singer should be experienced in balancing and keeping in time with both the lead singer and other fellow singers and also one who has the ability to ‘hear’ his/herself , identify and sing the correct notes plus learn songs quickly! And Miva Rocxy is that kind of backing vocalist who has all the qualities mentioned above.

After backing musicians in the Ghanaian music industry for a long time, new-kid-on-the-block, Miva Rocxy is also thinking of stepping into the limelight. Miva recently disclosed to Ghana Music.com about her intention of dropping an album soon.

Already, a leaked song of Miva is receiving good response in the radio sector.
The artist says she writes her own music drawing her inspiration from real life. “I write about things I identify with such as joyful and sad moments.” And it is evident in her music.

For example one of her songs, I heard, Miva asks ‘her lover’ to find a desert island where they can live for the rest of their lives so that no one will bug them.

Yet this, as she confesses, “is just the beginning. I promise to come up with more and better music.”

With all this eagerness, Miva confesses that she is inspired by singer Kojo Antwi, Shee, Kwabena Kwabena and Daddy Lumba. “Whenever I pray, I ask God to avail me with strength to reach the artistes I mentioned musical status one day”, she admits.
