It’s only a song

The person of Tuobodom’s claim that the song by Nkasei be banned or barred on radio generates some mixed feelings. While one fathoms the huffing and puffing from  some citizens over the song, it’s also essential to take cognisance of the simple fact that, it is just a song which has no intention of causing any exasperation from some people.

Dr. Kwame Domfreh of the University of Ghana Business SCH, Legon with the article “This isn’t funny, Nkasei,” astounded me with his assertion that the song could cause ethnic war. He was right when he stated that music could influence emotions, but it all depends on how you perceive and receive the song.

Nkasei is a talented group and after their successful debut album, they’ve found it extremely difficult to hit top form, and for me,’yefrituobodom’ is just the right song released at the right time that will catapult Nkasei back to the elite division of hiplife.

Their ability to make a hit song out of a mere trivial story is simply phenomenal, and their music video is entralling. Why is Dr. Domfreh and others fuming over the song? Many people including myself never knew Tuobodom existed, but thanks to Nkasei, Tuobodom has garnered enough popularity and recognition.

Which town wouldn’t want that? At least, it will boost tourist attraction as curious people would now want to see what the town called Tuobodom. I now know for sure that Tuobodom is a town in the Techiman district in the Brong Ahafo Region.

Somebody tell the Adontehemaa of Tuobodom that the song cannot lead to any chaos whatsoever; if she admonishes the peeved ones to show some tolerance and accept the fact that it’s just a song. After all, we all know people of Tuobodom aren’t ‘villagers’ as portrayed by Nkasei.
